If you’re like me, you’ve dipped your toes into just about every craft under the sun—knitting, crochet, nail art, card making, painting, jewelry design… the list goes on. Some might call it “being easily distracted,” but I like to think of it as chronic crafting. And while “mastered” might be a strong word (more like enthusiastically experimented), this ever-changing world of creativity has been my anchor.
Crafting for me is more than just a hobby. It’s a way to quiet the mental noise and channel my ADHD energy into something tangible. Sitting down in the evening with a new project helps me unwind, feel accomplished, and—most importantly—feel like me.
But here’s the thing: as much as I love my crafting chaos, I often wonder, Is this a good thing? I mean, I’ve got a half-finished crochet blanket, a scrapbook with two pages done, and knitting needles that haven’t seen daylight in months.

Does this sound familiar?
Let’s talk about it.
For those of us in our 30s, navigating life with ADHD can feel like a constant battle between embracing creativity and trying to “stick to one thing.” But what if we stopped fighting it? What if being a “jack of all trades” is a strength?
Here are a few questions to get the conversation started:
1. Does crafting help you relax or focus? What’s your go-to craft when you need to de-stress or feel productive?
2. How do you balance trying new crafts with finishing old projects? (Or do you? No judgment here!)
3. What have you learned about yourself through crafting? Has it taught you patience, problem-solving, or how to embrace imperfection?
4. Do you feel crafting gives you the chance to prove you’re more capable than others might assume?
5. What’s one craft you’ve always wanted to try but haven’t yet?
Crafting isn’t just about making things; it’s about making space for yourself. So whether you’ve got a dozen unfinished projects or just one favorite, your creativity is valid—and valuable.
