Would you believe me if I told you this journey started by accident?
Over a year ago, I sat down to write a blog post. It was about an idea close to my heart. The idea involved creating and selling a Disney-inspired sticker. The goal was to help fund a dream trip to the most magical place on earth. I poured my thoughts into it but never hit publish. Something held me back. Maybe fear. Maybe perfectionism. Maybe both.
Fast forward to a few weeks ago, when a friend kindly offered to help tidy up my website. While making some edits, she accidentally hit “publish” on that old draft post. I didn’t even know until I saw seven likes on it within minutes. And you know what? Those seven likes meant the world to me. It seems small, but to me, it was the spark I needed. Seven people read my words and took the time to respond—and that gave me the courage to move ahead.
So I did it. I launched the sticker.
The design is something you’d instantly recognise if you’re a Disney park lover—a little rucksack with mouse ears. But here’s the twist: it’s a colouring-in sticker. That means it’s for everyone, no matter your style or favourite characters. You get to bring it to life with your own colours, your own imagination. And I’m already working on new designs, including a paperclip-inspired one that ties in perfectly with this blog post.
But this isn’t just my journey. My kids are right there with me, excited to be part of it. They’re creative, crafty, and full of ideas. Together, we’ve decided that every order will come with a personalised Disney-inspired business card made by the kids themselves. A small touch that adds a whole lot of heart.
Of course, no creative journey is without its challenges. We’ve dealt with printer ink dilemmas, sticker paper choices, and making sure everything works perfectly for colouring in. I find joy in seeing my children take pride in what we’re building together. That makes every little hiccup feel worth it.
So what’s next? More designs, more creativity, and more sharing. We’ll be colouring our own stickers and posting them online to show what’s possible. We’re also sending some samples to our favourite Disney YouTubers in hopes they’ll help us spread the magic.
The ultimate dream? To raise enough money to take my children to Disney so they can feel the same awe and wonder I experienced growing up. But this is more than a fundraiser. It’s a community. It’s a creative outlet. And it’s the first step in building the Disney-inspired business I’ve always dreamed of.
